In 2026, I independently authored, edited, and published my debut fantasy novel, The Vanish Act. Beyond the writing itself, I managed every aspect of the project: developing the book's visual brand, designing the cover art (beginning with a hand-constructed physical collage and finishing the piece digitally in Photoshop), and building my author website from the ground up at jstaffordwrites.com. The project required the same core skills I bring to communications work every day: long-form content creation, brand development, audience targeting, and the ability to take a complex creative project from concept to completion.
